Medical Services

Animal Medical Hospital offers a wide variety of
services to keep your pets healthy and happy.

Physical Exam

Is your pet vomiting, losing weight, not eating? At Animal Medical Hospital, we know it can be scary when your best friend isn’t feeling well. We are here to help. To determine the cause of the problem, we will conduct a thorough physical exam. The veterinarian will take a complete medical history, make nutrition recommendations, assess behavior, and review any known medical conditions. This exam will help the veterinarian decide if additional testing is required.

Surgical Procedures

Having your pet spayed or neutered can help them live a longer, healthier life and help prevent undesirable behaviors such as urine marking, aggression and errant sexual behavior. Spaying females can help protect them from ovarian, uterine and breast cancer. Neutering males prevents testicular cancer and minimizes prostatic disease. Other surgical procedures we perform include, but are not limited to: tumor removal, biopsy, ocular surgery, caesarean sections and abdominal surgeries.

Once dental disease has developed, a full dental cleaning and oral exam is needed. All of our dental cleanings are performed under general anesthesia. Because 40% of dental disease is present under the gum line, our patients receive a thorough dental cleaning where all surfaces of the teeth are scaled, both above and below the gum line, and then polished. We polish the teeth after scaling, eliminating microscopic grooves that can lead to rapid plaque accumulation requiring frequent dental cleanings and the greater chance of further dental disease. We then follow up with a complete fluoride treatment.

X-rays are a valuable diagnostic tool to identify heart disease, confirm pregnancies and to identify tumors, obstructions, bladder stones and joint disease. Our digital x-rays are read and interpreted by board-certified veterinary radiologists.

Lab Work

We have partnered with Antech Diagnostics for blood testing and pathologist evaluation of cytology or biopsy samples. This ensures that samples are read by a specialist in the veterinary field and helps us reach an accurate diagnosis faster. Visit for more information.

We offer a full range of medications here at the hospital. Most of the medications we prescribed are stored on the premises.

Have you decided it is time for your pet to pass over the rainbow bridge? To make the procedure as comfortable as possible for all parties, Dr. Miller can perform the euthanasia in your home or in the office. Just let us know your preference. We offer several pet memorial options and keepsakes, including paw prints, urns and box engraving.

Vaccinations for dogs are based on lifestyle, age and breed. Core vaccines include Rabies, Distemper and Leptospirosis. Our veterinarians may recommend additional vaccines such as Lyme and Bordetella (Kennel Cough). Specific vaccines are also available for cats. Click here for low-cost vaccine packages.

Dental Care

Dental health is a large part of your pet’s overall health and will be evaluated as part of your pet’s physical exam. Just as people accumulate plaque, our pets accumulate plaque and tartar. Over time, this will lead to dental disease that requires dental cleanings under anesthesia. We also will discuss options for home dental health care.

Nail Care

Our hospital offers nail trims at no additional cost to our clients.

Parasite Prevention

A monthly dose of parasite control medicine is the easiest way to protect your pet from internal and external parasites that can cause illness such as fleas, ticks and worms. Flea bites can trigger allergic reactions, skin inflammation and infection. Internal parasites can cause serious illness and become fatal if not treated. We offer effective parasite control treatments to keep the pests away.

Skin Disease Identification

Skin issues can be very frustrating to owners. Doing the right testing can make a big difference on the long term outcome. We can test for ringworm, bacterial, fungal, parasites and metabolic diseases that are commonly associated with skin issues. We provide flea and tick preventions that work. We can provide allergy testing and immunotherapy made especially for your pet. Are you concerned about a mass? We offer mass cytology and removal.

Nutritional Coaching

Confused on what food to feed your beloved family member? We can help answer your questions and discuss with you what food best fits your pet. We’ll evaluate diet and calculate the daily caloric requirement to your pet maintain a healthy weight. For overweight pets, we create diet plans with weekly and monthly weight loss goals.

Behavioral Consultation

Behavior issues can affect both dogs and cats. It is the number one reason pet owners euthanize or place for adoption. We offer a full behavioral assessment and physical exam and then prescribe the appropriate treatment. We also carry several over-the-counter products to help treat simple behavioral issues.
